Sermons on 2 Timothy

Fear not, be of a good courage

(2 Timothy 1:7) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (Philippians 4:8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

The Age of Loving Myself

『2 Timothy 3:1-2』 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves… The movement of Loving Myself will be spreading more and more through BTS. And also you will be able to hear more and more the praises of Loving Myself proclaimed by BTS. However, families and churches will get to lose their identities more and more on the contrary. If so, what is your choice?

The truth about baptism of the Spirit

『2 Timothy 2:15』 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. As we have seen the differences between the baptism of the Spirit and the filling of the Spirit, they are not only distinguished, but have some rather striking differences between them. However, in short, the baptism of the Spirit leads to our justification or having citizenship of Heaven, and the filling of the Spirit leads to our sanctification or having rewards in Heaven. Charismatic terms such as the baptism with fire, the second blessing, and speaking in tongues have nothing to do with the baptism of the Spirit.

The truth about speaking in tongue

There is no emphasis whatsoever on tongues speaking in the New Testament. The actions and experiences of the early churches were far removed from the actions and ‘experiences’ of the modern movement. The Bible warns the believer to be sober and vigilant at all times (1 Peter 5:8). (벧전 5:8) This means we are to be in control of our minds so as not to allow any harmful foreign influence.
