The Parable of the Lost Son

Luke 15:11-1411 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to [his] father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth [to me]. And he divided unto them [his] living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put [it] on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on [his] feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill [it]; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
11 ¶ 또 그분께서 이르시되, 어떤 사람에게 두 아들이 있었는데
12 그들 중 작은아들이 자기 아버지에게 이르기를, 아버지여, 재산 중에서 내게 돌아올 몫을 주소서, 하니 아버지가 자기 살림을 그들에게 나누어 주매
13 그 뒤 며칠이 안 되어 작은아들이 전부 다 모아 가지고 먼 나라로 가서 거기서 허랑방탕하게 살며 자기 재산을 허비하더니
14 그가 다 탕진한 뒤에 그 땅에 극심한 기근이 들어 그가 비로소 궁핍하게 되었으므로
15 그가 가서 그 나라의 한 국민에게 붙으니 그 사람이 그를 자기의 들로 보내어 돼지들을 먹이게 하니라.
16 그가 돼지들이 먹는 곡식 껍질로 기꺼이 자기 배를 채우려 하였으나 아무도 그에게 주지 아니하므로
17 그가 정신을 차리고 이르되, 내 아버지께는 빵이 풍족하여 나누어 줄 수 있는 품꾼들이 얼마나 많은가! 그런데 나는 굶어 죽는구나.
18 내가 일어나 내 아버지께 가서 그분께 이르기를, 아버지여, 내가 하늘을 대적하여 죄를 짓고 아버지 앞에 죄를 지었사오니
19 더 이상 아버지의 아들이라 불릴 자격이 없나이다. 나를 아버지의 품꾼들 중 하나로 삼아 주소서, 하리라, 하고
20 일어나 자기 아버지에게 가니라. 그러나 그가 아직 멀리 떨어져 있을 때에 그의 아버지가 그를 보고는 불쌍히 여겨 달려가 그의 목을 껴안고 그에게 입을 맞추매
21 아들이 아버지에게 이르되, 아버지여, 내가 하늘을 대적하여 죄를 짓고 아버지의 눈앞에서 죄를 지었사오니 더 이상 아버지의 아들이라 불릴 자격이 없나이다, 하였으나
22 아버지가 자기 종들에게 이르되, 가장 좋은 옷을 가져다가 그에게 입히고 그의 손에 반지를 끼우고 그의 발에 신을 신기라.
23 그리고 살진 송아지를 여기로 끌어와 잡으라. 우리가 먹고 즐거워하자.
24 이 내 아들은 죽었다가 다시 살아났으며 내가 그를 잃어버렸다가 찾았노라, 하니 그들이 즐거워하기 시작하더라.
