6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread.

7 Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.

8 And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.

9 The LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each [of you] in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.

10 And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.

11 And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? [are] there yet [any more] sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

12 Turn again, my daughters, go [your way]; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, [if] I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;

13 Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.

14 And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.

15 And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, [or] to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people [shall be] my people, and thy God my God:

17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, [if ought] but death part thee and me.

18 When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

Ruth 1:6-18

6 ¶ 그때에 그녀가 모압 지방에서 돌아오려고 자기 며느리들과 함께 일어났으니 이는 주께서 자신의 백성을 찾아오사 그들에게 빵을 주셨다는 것을 그녀가 모압 지방에서 들었기 때문이더라.

7 그러므로 그녀가 자기가 있는 곳에서 나가매 그녀의 두 며느리도 그녀와 함께하더라. 그들이 유다 땅으로 돌아오려고 길을 갈 때에

8 나오미가 자기의 두 며느리에게 이르되, 가서 각각 자기 어머니 집으로 돌아가라. 너희가 죽은 자들과 나를 친절히 대한 것같이 주께서 너희를 친절히 대하시기를 원하며

9 주께서 너희가 각각 자기 남편 집에서 안식을 찾게 하시기를 원하노라, 하고 그들에게 입을 맞추매 그들이 소리 높여 울며

10 그녀에게 이르되, 우리가 반드시 어머니와 함께 어머니의 백성에게 돌아가겠나이다, 하니

11 나오미가 이르되, 되돌아가라. 내 딸들아, 너희가 어찌하여 나와 함께 가려 하느냐? 아직도 내 태에 아들들이 있어서 그들이 너희 남편이 되겠느냐?

12 되돌아가라. 내 딸들아, 너희 길로 갈지어다. 나는 너무 늙어 남편을 두지 못하노라. 가령 내가 소망이 있다고 말하거나 혹은 오늘 밤에 남편도 두고 아들들도 낳는다 하자.

13 그들이 자랄 때까지 너희가 그들을 기다리겠느냐? 그들로 인해 너희가 남편 두기를 멈추겠느냐? 내 딸들아, 아니라. 주의 손이 나와서 나를 치셨으므로 내가 너희로 인해 심히 괴롭도다, 하매

14 그들이 소리 높여 다시 울더라. 오르바는 자기 시어머니에게 입을 맞추되 룻은 그녀에게 굳게 붙으므로

15 그녀가 이르되, 보라, 네 동서는 자기 백성과 자기 신들에게 돌아갔으니 너도 네 동서를 따라 돌아가라, 하매

16 룻이 이르되, 나더러 어머니를 떠나거나 어머니를 따르지 말고 돌아가라고 강권하지 마소서. 어머니께서 가시는 곳에 나도 가고 어머니께서 묵으시는 곳에 나도 묵으리이다. 어머니의 백성이 내 백성이 되고 어머니의 하나님이 내 하나님이 되시리니

17 어머니께서 죽으시는 곳에서 나도 죽어 거기 묻힐 것이니이다. 만일 죽음 외에 다른 어떤 것이 나와 어머니를 갈라놓으면 주께서 내게 벌을 내리시고 더 내리시기를 원하나이다, 하므로

18 룻이 자기와 함께 가기로 굳게 결심한 것을 나오미가 보고는 그녀에게 말하기를 그치니라.
