1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

5 So he called every one of his lord’s debtors [unto him], and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

Luke 16:1-12

1 그분께서 또한 자기 제자들에게 이르시되, 어떤 부자에게 청지기가 있었는데 바로 그가 자기 재산을 허비했다는 비난의 말이 부자에게 들리므로

2 부자가 그를 불러 그에게 이르되, 내가 너에 대해 이 말을 듣는 것이 어찌 된 일이냐? 네 청지기 직무에 대하여 회계 보고를 하라. 네가 더 이상 청지기가 되지 못하리라, 하매

3 그때에 청지기가 속으로 이르되, 내 주인이 내게서 청지기 직분을 빼앗으니 내가 무엇을 할까? 땅을 팔 수도 없고 구걸하자니 부끄럽구나.

4 내가 무엇을 할지 결심하였으니 이렇게 하면 내가 청지기 직분을 빼앗길 때에 그들이 나를 자기 집으로 받아들이리라, 하고

5 이에 그가 자기 주인에게 빚진 자들을 일일이 불러 첫째 사람에게 이르되, 너는 내 주인에게 얼마를 빚졌느냐? 하니

6 그가 이르되, 기름 백 말이니이다, 하매 청지기가 그에게 이르되, 네 증서를 가져다가 빨리 앉아 오십 말이라고 적으라, 하고

7 그 뒤에 그가 다른 사람에게 이르되, 너는 얼마를 빚졌느냐? 하니 그가 이르되, 밀 백 석이니이다, 하매 청지기가 그에게 이르되, 네 증서를 가져다가 팔십 석이라고 적으라, 하였더라.

8 그 불의한 청지기가 지혜롭게 행하였으므로 주인이 그를 칭찬하였으니 이는 이 세상의 자녀들이 자기들 세대에서는 빛의 자녀들보다 더 지혜롭기 때문이니라.

9 내가 너희에게 이르노니 불의의 맘몬으로 너희를 위해 친구들을 사귀라. 그러면 너희가 숨이 멎을 때에 그들이 너희를 영존하는 거처로 받아들이리라.

10 가장 적은 것에 신실한 자는 또한 많은 것에 신실하고 가장 적은 것에 불의한 자는 또한 많은 것에 불의하니라.

11 그러므로 너희가 불의한 맘몬에 신실하지 아니하였다면 누가 참된 재물을 너희에게 맡기겠느냐?

12 또 너희가 다른 사람의 것에 신실하지 아니하였다면 누가 너희의 것을 너희에게 주겠느냐?
