1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

6 And when the disciples heard [it], they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

Matthew 17:1-8

1 엿새 뒤에 예수님께서 베드로와 야고보와 그의 형제 요한을 취해 따로 그들을 높은 산으로 데리고 올라가사

2 그들 앞에서 모습이 변하시니 그분의 얼굴이 해같이 빛나고 그분의 옷이 빛같이 희게 되었더라.

3 보라, 모세와 엘리야가 그들에게 나타나 그분과 이야기하므로

4 그때에 베드로가 응답하여 예수님께 이르되, 주여, 우리가 여기 있는 것이 좋사오니 만일 주께서 원하시면 우리가 여기에 장막 셋을 짓되 하나는 주를 위해, 하나는 모세를 위해, 하나는 엘리야를 위해 짓게 하옵소서, 하더라.

5 그가 아직 말할 때에, 보라, 빛나는 구름이 그들을 덮었는데, 보라, 그 구름 속에서 한 음성이 나서 이르시되, 이 사람은 내 사랑하는 아들이라. 내가 그를 매우 기뻐하노니 너희는 그의 말을 들으라, 하시므로

6 제자들이 그것을 듣고는 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 심히 두려워하더라.

7 예수님께서 오셔서 그들에게 손을 대시며 이르시되, 일어나라. 두려워하지 말라, 하시므로

8 그들이 눈을 들어 보니 오직 예수님 외에는 아무도 보이지 아니하더라.
