25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

26 If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have [sufficient] to finish [it]?

29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish [it], all that behold [it] begin to mock him,

30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:25-33

25 ¶ 큰 무리들이 그분과 함께 갈 때에 그분께서 돌아서서 그들에게 이르시되,

26 어떤 사람이 내게 오면서 자기 아버지나 어머니나 아내나 자식이나 형제나 자매나 참으로 자기 생명도 미워하지 아니하면 내 제자가 될 수 없고

27 누구든지 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 따라오지 아니하는 자도 내 제자가 될 수 없느니라.

28 너희 중에 누가 망대를 세우려 할 때에 먼저 앉아서 자기가 가진 것이 그것을 완성하기에 충분한지 그 비용을 계산하지 아니하겠느냐?

29 그리하지 아니하여 혹시 그가 기초만 놓은 채 그것을 완성할 수 없으면 그것을 보는 모든 자가 그를 조롱하기 시작하며

30 이르되, 이 사람이 세우는 일을 시작하고 완성할 수는 없었다, 하리라.

31 또는 어떤 왕이 다른 왕을 대적하여 전쟁을 일으키려 할 때에 먼저 앉아서 자기를 대적하여 이만 명을 거느리고 오는 자를 자기가 만 명으로 당해 낼 수 있을지 곰곰이 생각해 보지 아니하겠느냐?

32 만일 그럴 수 없다면 다른 왕이 아직 멀리 있을 때에 그가 사신단을 보내어 평화의 조건을 구하느니라.

33 그런즉 이와 같이 너희 중에 누구든지 자기가 가진 모든 것을 버리지 아니하는 자는 내 제자가 될 수 없느니라.
